AI LITERACY, TRAINING, COACHING AND BUILDING

Nationale Opera & Ballet

The Netherlands' national opera and ballet company

Brooke ran an AI literacy, training and empowerment session for 40+ marketing and communications and fundraising team members. She led with core concepts, followed by personalised AI tool setup and worked through real tasks for each role.

Afterwards, one word came up again and again in the feedback - "possibilities". People were surprised by how much they could already do, and how much further a few changes to the way they prompt could take them.

Since then, the work has carried on in the form of one to one coaching, additional training across other teams and collaborative building sessions. We're focusing on things like translation tools, automations that catch errors before they cause delays, and others that speed up due diligence and shorten approval cycles. We are also exploring using AI tools to reduce administrative overheads and improve accuracy for environmental impact reporting.

AI LITERACY AND TRAINING

Opera Europa Marketing and Communications Forum

The membership organisation for professional opera companies and festivals across Europe

Brooke ran an AI literacy and training session for Opera Europa members, a large international group of around 40 people joining from opera houses right across the continent, among them Opera de Lyon, Opéra national de Paris, Finnish National Opera, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Oper Frankfurt and Wexford Festival Opera. For many, it was the first AI training they had taken part in. The room was warm and curious from the start.

People came in using a variety of tools - Copilot, Gemini, Claude and ChatGPT, some on paid plans and some on the free versions. Brooke worked across the room, hands-on, troubleshooting with people one by one on whatever they were using. Everyone left with an optimised setup tuned to their own preferences and priorities, a workflow they could put to use the next day, and a clear set of tips for getting the most relevant, high-quality results. When asked what they would do differently in the next two weeks, many people shared that they'd be experimenting more with deep research and its capabilities.

AI LITERACY, TRAINING, COACHING AND PILOT PROGRAMMES

Freshwater Theatre Company

A small commercial theatre company

Brooke worked with the Freshwater team over a few months and, as is common, the starting point for individuals was quite varied. Some people had never opened an AI tool. Some had real reservations about the ethics of using one at all. The early sessions met that head on, working through how to use these tools responsibly and where their limits sit, before the hands-on work began. The team was on the standard version of Copilot, not a premium upgrade, so everything was built to get the most from the tools they already had.

From there it became a mix of group training and one-to-one coaching, with real pilots to experiment with. By the end, the team had built things of their own, such as a social media agent that takes the fear out of a blank page, and a Critical Friend Coach - an ideas-challenger that is designed to poke holes in assumptions and sharpen thinking. One team member is now also using deep research to find and evaluate potential partnerships. Another is crunching large datasets for marketing analysis, finding new opportunities for sales to schools, and brainstorming creative development ideas. They are also using AI to record and summarise meetings.
